the SmartTopix Owl is your Guide.
Being the firstborn of Greek immigrants, I lived with an ever present focus on learning, work ethic, and progress. This is the source of my interest in learning and sharing knowledge.
In college, I read about Athena, the goddess of wisdom, strategy, and the hearth, and her mascot, the wise owl. I felt I’d found my people!
While some cultures think of the owl as a night predator, the ancient Greeks interpreted its ability to see in the dark “as a metaphor for insight and perception.” 1 The owl could see beyond the obvious and helped Athena develop strategies for moving forward. As Athena’s mascot, the owl’s skills and contributions amplified its position of wisdom.
Today, I still count on Athena and her wise owl to guide me. As a lifelong learner, I can’t simply consume knowledge without sharing it. The real value in learning is in sharing it with others and learning from each other. This sense of community through sharing knowledge, one topic at a time, is what SmartTopix is all about!
At SmartTopix, you will find many “brain nuggets”, insights, and perspectives. We hope they will elevate and encourage you to see beyond the obvious. Count on SmartTopix owl to carry forward the wisdom of Athena and lift you to new heights!
